I will be attending the Ohio eTech conference next week. My district was kind enough to set me up to attend all three days, so I’ll be heading down to Columbus bright and early Monday morning! I’ve never been to this conference, so I’m not sure what to expect, but if I come across anything interesting I will be sure to write about it here. It looks like it’s packed with plenty to see and do. Hopefully I’ll come away with plenty of ideas. I’m sure I’ll find something extremely expensive that I’ll drool over.
First, thanks for all the positive comments on my site! It is really motivating me to try and make it better. It’s been great to have an opportunity to chat and email teachers from all over the country and get their perspective on teaching EM and using the Smartboard.
The biggest question, far and away, is WHEN ARE MORE FILES COMING TO THE FORUM? Well, mine are coming soon. I have a few for Unit 6 completed, and I am tweaking them just a bit before I post them. But rest assured, I plan on posting a file for each and every lesson for third grade Everyday Math. Between work and my two little ones at home time is tight.
Speaking of Unit 6, I’m not there yet in class, but we are getting close. There is plenty of Geometry and lots of lines to create, so I thought I would offer a few tips to set up your line tool in the Smartboard Notebook software to save you some time. Nothing ground breaking here, but may be useful to some of you new to the Smartboard. Enjoy!
Happy Holidays!! I hope all of you were lucky enough to have some down time and get some well deserved rest. I made the decision to sit back and relax this break. I usually give myself a project over the winter break, which would have been this site this year, but as you can see, I stuck to my guns and enjoyed my time with my family and kids.
Well, it’s time to get back to it. I started to make a list of ideas to present in the near future, but I would also like to hear what you would like to see in future posts. I don’t claim to be an expert, but I will say I have become pretty handy with the Smartboard and very comfortable with the Everyday Math program (third grade). Is there anything you would like to see in an upcoming video? If so, leave a comment or send me an email. I’ll do my best to cover as much as I can.
